TMR: Dental implant market to grow based on titanium, trends

Katherine E. Pfaff

The dental implants market is expected to increase globally based on high rates of usage of titanium in dental implants and ever-increasing rates of periodontal disease, according to Transparency Market Research. Dental diseases driving the market growth include caries, tooth loss, and patients who are aging or have a poor lifestyle.

The market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.1% across the period of 2019 to 2027. Prior to the start of the period, the market was estimated to be valued at $4.08 billion in 2018.

Dental implants overtake dentures, bridges, or crowns in popularity among patients, according to TMR, as the devices provide a better aesthetic result. The majority of such implants are comprised, at least in part, of titanium which provides a lasting, biocompatible, and breakage-resistance implant. The titanium implant market is expected to be a driver in the dental implant space.
