The global market for restorative materials and bonding agents is forecast to grow during the decade-long forecast period (2021 to 2031), according to market analysis firm, Transparency Market Research. The market is predicted to grow at a CAGR of 7.4% across the period.
Within the dentistry market, the use of restoration and bonding materials are ubiquitous, for procedures including bridges, crowns, and fillings, as well as other devices to repair teeth or help the patient best use their teeth. At the same time, recent advancements in materials used for dental care in both bonding agents and restoration has spurred growth, and is expected to continue to bolster the market.
Advances in the industry include reduced shrinking of polymers thereby allowing for faster curing, and fillers that use micro- and nano-sized materials to support implants. Companies in the space also continue to innovate, aiming to, for example, reduce the viscosity and film thickness of dental products for improved patient experience, and improve orthodontic products, and dental consumables.
