Edra Publishing interviewed dental industry leaders and authors at the recent International Dental Show in Cologne, Germany. 

IDS organizers estimated that attendees numbered 120,000 throughout the convention. This year marked the 100th anniversary of the IDS, which premiered in 1923. The convention featured innovations and new technologies in digital dentistry.

In this interview, Dr. William Nudera talked about his background in dentistry and his book, “NuEndo: Rethinking Endodontics.” 

Nudera’s father completed dental school and then advanced his studies even more by going to medical school. And his mother was a nurse. 

“I’ve always been around health care my entire life,” he said. So, going into health care was a bit of a no-brainer. 

“Dentistry is very artistic and very scientific,” he said. “I was always good at math but I was also always good with my hands.” Having these two skills was a perfect combination for dentistry, said Nudera. 

Nudera said his older brother was interested in dentistry, and he “tagged along with him” for a tour he was taking of the local dental school. 

“I fell in love with it,” he said. “This is what I want to do.” That was the moment when he made a final decision to explore a career in dentistry. 

Dr. William Nudera, DDS, specializes in endodontics and is a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, Illinois Dental Society and the American Association of Endodontists. Nudera is an advocate for endodontics and a key opinion leader for Dentsply Tulsa Dental Specialties.
