Video: Giacamo Anselmo, 3D Systems Corporation, NextDent

Edra Publishing interviewed dental industry leaders and authors at the recent International Dental Show (IDS) in Cologne, Germany.

IDS organizers estimated that attendees numbered 120,000 throughout the convention. This year marked the 100th anniversary of the IDS, which premiered in 1923. The convention featured innovations and modern technologies in digital dentistry.

In this interview, Giacamo Anselmo, director of sales and marketing for 3D Systems Corporation, discussed his role with the company and its impact on the dental industry. In January 2017, Vertex Global Holding merged with 3D Systems Corp., bringing its NextDent materials portfolio into the fold.

“As NextDent, we are an innovator in the 3D printing market for dental,” Anselmo said.

At the IDS, the company launched a new denture base material, improving upon previous products. Anselmo described the product as a third-generation material that demonstrates the company's know-how and longevity in the market.

The team also presented its new desktop LCD1 3D Printer, which is available for smaller labs and practices, and dental teams just starting out in the 3D printing space.
