Clear aligners market to hit $17B

Grand View Research, Inc., a market analysis company, has forecast the worldwide market for clear aligners to amass a value of $17.0 billion by 2028, in its recent report. The increase marks a CAGR of 27.3% during the forecast period of 2021 to 2028.
Technology and a desire for clear aligners which can be customized have driven growth in the segment. Aligner systems can be designed through digital impressions and planning systems, making them specific to each patient. The clear appearance and moderate/low pain movement of teeth also makes the devices appealing to many patients.
By age group, clear aligners have been adopted in greatest numbers by teenagers. The largest market share for clear aligners was attained in 2019 by practices which provided aligners alone- not as part of an overall dental or orthodontic practice. By location, North America held the largest share in 2019 as there is greater infrastructure for care, presence of technology, and companies participating in the space.
