Str8 dental aligner goes nationwide

Katherine E. Pfaff

Dental aligner company, Str8, has launched across the country in an effort to increase access to its services. The startup brand aims to combine direct to consumer and in-person care. The system was previously trialed in a pilot in Arkansas as the founder, Dr. Misee Harris, operates a dental office in the state.

Unlike other dental aligner providers, Str8 combines education and promotion of ongoing and regular dental check-ups to create a healthy smile. Under the Str8 process, patients receive a free initial exam, and patient cases are designed by orthodontists and dentists. On top of that, patients receive discounts of $100 off for receiving a dental cleaning in the past year.

"My passion has always been to help and improve others' lives. I inherited that from my mother and my grandmother," says Misee Harris, founder of Str8. "Starting Str8 and the ability to provide healthy smiles for those who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford orthodontic treatment was a no-brainer for me. I'm excited to grow as a company and continue to see how we can change people's lives."

The system’s clear aligners are meant to be affordable as they are created at the company’s own lab which is part of an onsite medical center. Additionally, patients can receive telehealth monitoring during aligner treatment.
