The International Academy of Ceramic Implantology (IAOCI) will hold its annual congress in Atlanta from April 13 to 15. This is the twelfth year for the event, which will feature some of the world’s foremost biomaterials experts, bioceramics industry leaders and experienced clinicians in the field of ceramic implantology.
Registration rates increase after March 15, 2023.
Over the course of three days, world class clinicians will conduct workshops on clinical skills and attendees will learn more about the implementation and business aspects of promoting ceramic implants in dental practices. Hear from metal-free implant dentistry expert researchers and others committed to best practices in ceramic implantology during open discussions at the end of each day in a moderated Q & A forum.

Industry leaders, doctors to attend
Dr. Sammy Noumbissi, founder and president of the IAOCI, said that the Academy is a group of forward-thinking dentists whose implant procedures are focused on ceramic implants.
“Every year, we have a meeting where we bring together all of the industry players, doctors and partners for workshops and lectures in the field of ceramic implants,” said Noumbissi, who began using ceramic implants in his practice 12 years ago in Silver Spring, Maryland.
“Ceramic implants are not new,” he said, when asked about the evolution of this sector of implantology. “They’ve been available and investigated since the early 1960s. The need came about when we started realizing that there was a problem with metals, especially metal alloys.”
Noumbissi said that over the years, the challenge was that the ceramic materials were not very well adapted to the needs of dentistry, the way teeth function.
“In the early days, there were a lot of failures and fractures of ceramic implants,” he explained. “But in the last 10 to 15 years, technology has evolved so well. We have a wide variety of ceramic implants that can be applied to a wide range of teeth replacement solutions.”
Presentations, workshops and speaker forums at the IAOCI Congress have been carefully selected and organized to deliver a scientific, evidence-based and clinically relevant event for attendees in this fast-growing aspect of dental implantology.
