Market in pediatric dentistry to exceed 5% growth

Market analysts, Research and Markets.com, have forecast the rate of growth for the pediatric dental market at 5.5% CAGR, according to the company’s report. The forecast period from 2021 to 2028 will end with a value of $14.13 billion, based on the company’s estimation.

The market is expected to grow as technologies in the space improve and due to the number of patients with dental and oral diseases. Children are prone to dental caries and may have had regular check ups delayed or canceled during the pandemic, leading to potential uptick in cases of disease. Also adding to growth in market are the treatment of pediatric teeth with dental sealants to prevent decay. 

By 2020 data, dental caries took the largest share of the market by disease at 35.0%. The largest share in 2020 by procedure was prophylactic dental cleanings which amounted to more than 30.0%. By geography, North America held the largest share of the market, with more than 35.0%, based on the region’s access to medical technology and large companies in the space.
