Partnership with Eversmile makes o scillating s ystem available through HSO in the United States.
The smartIPR advanced interproximal reduction (IPR) system is now available through Henry Schein Orthodontics (HSO) in the United States, after HSO—the orthodontics business of Henry Schein, Inc.—entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with Eversmile.
smartIPR™ helps modernize and simplify IPR procedures by allowing clinicians to open tight interproximal contacts gradually with precision, while minimizing the risk of cutting hard or soft tissue. The system eliminates the need for traditional, razor-sharp hand strips and spinning disks, providing clinicians with a controlled approach to IPR procedures using oscillation. The system utilizes a vibrating handpiece paired with non-rotating, lubricated smart DISKS to gently glide between teeth, polishing enamel surfaces and creating precise space.
“By partnering with Eversmile, we are expanding access to an innovative technology that reimagines the IPR process across orthodontic practices nationwide,” Zachary Meli, vice president and general manager at HSO, stated in a press release. “This addition further strengthens Henry Schein Orthodontics’ commitment to delivering clinically driven solutions that help our customers work more efficiently while enhancing the patient experience.”
Engineered to provide clinicians with enhanced control throughout treatment, the system-based approach of smartIPR helps streamline IPR procedures and integrates seamlessly into modern orthodontic practices.
“Eversmile is excited to partner with Henry Schein Orthodontics and build on our shared commitment to advancing orthodontic care through innovation,” added Dr. Michael Florman, president and CEO of Eversmile. “Since its introduction, smartIPR has generated strong interest among clinicians seeking a more controlled and efficient approach to IPR procedures. Through this partnership, we look forward to expanding access to a system that we believe represents a meaningful advancement in the way chairside IPR procedures are performed.”
The launch of smartIPR reinforces HSO’s strategy of collaborating with leading innovators across orthodontics to bring differentiated technologies to market through its family of brands. HSO’s unified collective of specialized brands such as Carriere Motion , Ortho Technology , Smilers , Nemotec, and more are designed to help accelerate innovation, optimize treatment efficiency, and support high-quality patient care, the company stated.
