Great Lakes Names New Chief Executive

David Josza was recently named Great Lakes’ new president and chief executive officer. Mr. Josza assumed his new role on May 11, 2026.

David Josza has broad experience across the medical and dental device industries. With an MBA in International Finance, he brings proven versatility across startups, mid-market companies, and large public corporations to Great Lakes.

David has a consistent record of stepping into complex, high-stakes situations—including turnarounds, post-acquisition integrations, and mature businesses—and delivering sustained, measurable results. His leadership combines strategic clarity with operational discipline, and he has been recognized for building high-performing management teams.

Commercially, David has driven hundreds of millions in revenue growth across global markets while achieving significant cost efficiencies and operational transformation. “David’s expertise in P&L management, go-to-market strategy, sales force effectiveness, and cross-border operations makes him uniquely suited to assume this leadership role and continue the next chapter of the Great Lakes story,” said James R. Kunkemoeller, chairman of the board of directors and past president and CEO.

Great Lakes is an employee-owned company with 200 employee-owners who design, develop, and manufacture appliances and products for use in the orthodontic, restorative, dental , and sleep and airway markets. Great Lakes is one of North America’s largest orthodontic laboratories, offering more than 4,000 products and services.

Great Lakes’ corporate headquarters is located at 200 Cooper Avenue in Tonawanda, New York.
