AAE names May ‘Save Your Tooth Month’

The American Association of Endodontists (AAE) has launched a nationwide program to preserve teeth and has deemed the month of May as “Save Your Tooth Month.” AAE’s month-long initiative highlights the importance of getting back to or maintaining good oral health through regular brushing, flossing, and check-ups with a professional twice a year. The initiative is sponsored by Sonendo’s “The Gentle Wave Procedure,” a minimally invasive procedure that can serve as an alternative to a root canal. The program comes on the heels of an AAE survey that found respondents reported eating more snacks and sugary foods while home during the pandemic and did not schedule regular dental appointments. Survey respondents also shared that being at home led to waiting longer to brush or floss.
