WOHD to focus on oral health pride

March 20th is World Oral Health Day, which calls on health groups and individuals to improve oral health and lessen the burden of diseases and care costs associated with poor oral health management. WOHD is intended to spur events and campaigns around oral health, with a "map of activities" worldwide and awards for "best media campaign" and "most educational activity." Resources for getting involved are available at www.worldoralhealthday.org. 

The annual event began in 2007 with the FDI World Dental Federation's launch, a Switzerland-based organization.  The theme from 2021 to 2023 is "Be Proud of Your Mouth," and aims to motivate participants to take pride in their oral health and care for their mouth and understand that oral health is vital for whole-body health.
