Delta Dental Foundation awarded grants for dental equipment

Author: Katherine Pfaff

Delta Dental Foundation offered grant funding to practices in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana as part of its COVID-19 Dental Equipment Fund. The program, bolstered with a total of $400,000, was intended to bridge the gap to allow for safe access to care and to aid “safety net” dental facilities in need of safety upgrades.

The funding was awarded to upgrade sterilization equipment, improve ventilation, and to obtain more personal protective equipment. The awardees included community health departments, school dental health centers, clinics staffed by volunteers, and health centers. Funding was based in part on the need of the populations within the community.
