Video: StyleItaliano leaders, authors discuss “Yearbook 2022”

Edra Publishing interviewed dental industry leaders and authors at the recent International Dental Show (IDS) in Cologne, Germany.

IDS organizers estimated that attendees numbered 120,000 throughout the convention. This year marked the 100th anniversary of the IDS, which premiered in 1923. The convention featured innovations and modern technologies in digital dentistry.

In the first interview below, StyleItaliano co-founders Dr. Walter Devoto and Dr. Angelo Putignano discussed their backgrounds and “Yearbook 2022.”

Putignano started his career as a dentist some 40 years ago.

“When I started, I worked as a general practitioner,” he said. He then fell in love with restorative dentistry and started teaching at a university.

A dozen years ago, working with Devoto, Putignano said the duo created StyleItaliano, with an aim to change the point of view of dentistry for general practitioners all over the world.

“Yearbook 2022” summarizes what they’ve accomplished with StyleItaliano, said Putignano.

Devoto said he worked in the restaurant industry prior to becoming a dentist. He joked that he became a dentist so that people with problem teeth could eat and drink everything “happily.”

In the Styleitaliano Yearbook, the authors highlight the best cases published in 2022 on the company’s social channels, where followers number up to 500,000. The goal is that all dentists can see, know and understand the philosophy that guides them, and makes them unique.

The second interview below highlights yearbook authors who are interviewed by StyleItaliano’s scientific director, Professor Louis Hardan.

Hardan spoke with Dr. Valentin Vervack from Belgium, Dr. Osama Shaalan from Gaza.

Shaalan said through StyleItaliano, dentists can simplify their daily work.

Dr. Ahmed Saad said it was a great opportunity to work on the book as a team. He underscored StyleItaliano’s philosophy of focusing on what is teachable, visible and repeatable.

“We tried to share some of our experience of our daily work in this book,” he said.
