An international team from Edra Publishing will have an expanded presence at IDS 2023 in Cologne in mid-March. As an added draw, leaders and staff will conduct live interviews with book authors and key opinion leaders from dentistry and the dental industry at the convention.
Edra’s booth in Hall 2.2, stand B071, will feature an array of dentistry textbooks by authors from around the world, who will be available to answer your questions. Staff can also provide a preview of topics for additional books in the works with publication dates in 2023.
Earlier in 2023, IDS officials said that around 1,700 companies from 60 countries registered for the international trade fair. In addition to a large participation from Germany, exhibitors in Cologne hail from Italy, the Republic of Korea, France, Japan, Switzerland, Spain, Turkey and the U.S.
Edra Publishing U.S. produces Dentistry33, a new international e-journal and digital magazine that provides dentists with worldwide dentistry news and updates. Dentistry33 regularly highlights experts' opinions about everyday clinical problems.
Over the last 90 days, our news and journal site had 29,000 users, an increase of more than 95%.

About the IDS
The International Dental Show (IDS) will mark its 100th year anniversary in 2023, and convention organizers provided a preview for media on Nov. 28 at the Greater New York Dental Meeting. They expect to have at least 160,000 attendees, similar to the numbers in 2019 prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Markus Heibach, managing director of VDDI, Verband der Deutschen Dental-Industrie e.V., said the initial vision for the IDS — launched in 1916 in Berlin — was to allow every customer, dentist and dental technician to meet with members of the dental trade and pursue new customer relationships.
This cosmopolitan approach enables competition within an industry, a theme that continues today.
The first IDS had 29 exhibitors and was so successful that organizers decided to hold it every year until 1928. World War II — from 1939 to 1945 — disrupted events like the dental show and, much later, in 1992, VDDI decided to give the IDS a permanent home.
In 1999, conference organizers saw increasing numbers of exhibitors outside of Germany, a trend that has continued. In recent years, the IDS has seen an increased interest in sustainability, following market trends.
At the 2023 IDS, Heibach said to expect a focus on digital workflows and more applications of artificial intelligence.
