Dental flap surgery market to reach $9B by 2030

Katherine E. Pfaff

The global market for dental flap surgery is expected to grow by a Combined Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 7.2% across the forecast period of 2022 to 2030, according to a report by Research and Markets, which provides global market insights and analysis.

Based on a new report, the overall value of the market is projected to reach $8.91 billion by the end of 2030, according to a news release.

The increase in growth is expected based on the increasing prevalence of periodontal disease, increasing awareness of oral hygiene and booming dental tourism.

Dental flap surgeries are also expected to increase following the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted the number of dental surgical procedures due to restrictions imposed by governments. In addition, some patients chose to delay dental and other surgical procedures due to public health concerns.

Dental flap surgeries are relatively simple procedures that can be conducted with only local anesthesia. The procedure can be used to repair cervical defects, mid-root and other root perforations, resorption and root caries.

The North American region held the largest revenue share in 2021 due to growing R&D activities in dentistry and preventive approaches toward oral care and hygiene.
