Restorative dentistry to exceed 6% CAGR

Katherine E. Pfaff

The market for restorative dentistry is forecast to reach a value of $22.2 billion by 2027, according to a report by research analysts, MarketsandMarkets. The 2022 value of the market is expected to be $16.5 billion in 2022. The increase across the forecast period of 2022 to 2027 is estimated at 6.1% CAGR.

Widespread growth is pinned on the rate of increased dental repairs based in part on poor diets worldwide and on patient demand for cosmetic dental solutions. Market increases may be limited by the cost of dental implants coupled with the lack of insurance reimbursement for most treatments.

By segment, implantology held the largest share in 2021 following on the increased demand in developing nations. Prosthetic materials also held the largest market share by materials segment as the driver was thought to be that dentures are less costly than implants.

By end user in the global restorative dentistry market, dental clinics and hospitals were holder of the top spot in 2021. This is due to the high number of dental clinics and dental hospitals across the globe. At the same time, the facilities are investing in technologies that drive growth.
