The growth would amount to a CAGR of 9.6% across the forecast period of 2020 to 2027. In 2019, the market was valued at $8.89 billion. 

Growth in the market was forecast as the dental patient population ages worldwide and associated oral health problems arise. In addition, changing dietary habits have led to an increase in dental diseases worldwide. Another aspect is the progression of dental diagnostic technology that has opened up the need for resulting treatment. Early diagnosis also reduces costs in the long-term as health issues can be managed before exacerbation into serious issues.

Within the dental equipment market, radiology equipment held the largest share in 2019 at 46.4%. The segment is expected to maintain its lead position. Moving ahead, the segment is anticipated to grow at a high rate as the devices are necessary to quickly image patients’ mouths. 

Within the segments dedicated to geography, North America has held the tops spot and is expected to continue as the amount of spending is highest in the region. The geography is expected to grow at greatest rate between 2020 and 2027. The North American market was valued at $3.49 billion in 2019.
