Increasing dental disorders expected to proliferate dental implant abutment systems market

Katherine E. Pfaff

The Dental Implant Abutment Systems Market was valued at $4 billion in 2020 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of around 7% from 2022 to 2028, according to a report by market research firm, UnivDatos Markets Insights. The analysis includes an overview of product (dental implants, abutment systems), materials (titanium, zirconium), end-users (hospitals, dental clinics) and region or country.

The projection for increased growth across the market is based on technological advancements, increasing demand for cosmetic dentistry and an increasing awareness of the importance of oral care around the world.

Titanium held the top market share in 2020 over zirconium and other materials. Titanium is expected to continue to increase across the forecast period, according to the report. Growth is attributable to the reliability of these implants and the material’s ability to be used in varied formats with modified surfaces.

In the end-user segment, the hospital segment led in 2020 and is expected to grow at the highest CAGR based on patient preference. The hospital segment is thought to have the highest number of skilled professionals, advanced technology and established infrastructure compared to dental clinics.

By geography, North America is projected to grow at the highest CAGR in the forecast period. This is based on the region’s high rate of oral disease, established market players, healthcare structure and a large aging population.
