e-con Systems’ DensiCAM full HD intraoral camera is the newest addition to the company’s growing dental imaging portfolio.
DensiCAM was designed with 2 decades of imaging engineering excellence, states e-con Systems, a leading global provider of embedded vision solutions. It combines advanced optics, high resolution CMOS sensor and onboard image signal processing, all in a compact, plug-and-play form factor. Whether it is for diagnosing, documenting, or educating, this camera is designed to ensure clarity and accuracy in every shot. The new intraoral camera is now available on the dedicated dental website: Dental Imaging – Powered by e-con Systems.
DensiCAM’s image sensor and optics are perfectly matched to deliver industry-leading image sharpness with excellent MTF even at close focusing distances. With <2% distortion, it confirms minimal geometric deviation, vital for accurate clinical observation and documentation. With a depth of field ranging from 5mm to 80mm, DensiCAM captures clear images across a wide range of distances, suitable for full-mouth intraoral coverage from anterior teeth to molars—in a single frame. Its wide 90° field of view enables coverage for both quadrant and individual tooth views to effortlessly capture up to 3 teeth in 1 shot.
The camera supports both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 interfaces, delivering high-speed data transfer at 60 frames per second. This enhances the workflow for clinicians and dental imaging software providers.
“Over the years, we’ve closely collaborated with dental imaging companies and found that integrating camera modules and optics, while ensuring top-tier image quality—is a major challenge. With DensiCAM, we offer a ready-to-integrate intraoral camera that delivers superior image quality, reduces development effort, cuts costs, and speeds up time-to-market,” Balaji S, medical BU head at e-con Systems, said in a press release. “It’s designed specifically for OEMs like intraoral camera makers and dental equipment providers.”
