uLab Systems introduces the uDesign Cloud workflow, a web-based version of the uDesign Desktop, offering streamlined uAssist® treatment planning assistance services and uSmile ordering from any internet-enabled computer. The release is optimized for customer workflows that utilize the uAssist services. The Cloud provides a more efficient workflow and enhanced collaboration with our treatment planning professionals to achieve the customer’s desired treatment plan. The Cloud workflow is in beta testing for a few more weeks and will be commercially launched this spring. Current customers will be notified when it is available.
“We are pleased to offer this long-awaited web-based version of the uDesign software,” says Charlie Wen, co-founder and president of uLab Systems. “This beta release is the beginning of a transformation of the uDesign digital platform. The Cloud workflow is not the same old workflow put on the web—we have reimagined workflows to enhance each step.”
The launch of the uDesign Cloud workflow coincides with the release of the uDesign 10 Desktop, seamlessly integrating cloud-based tools for case submissions and ordering with a full-feature desktop application for treatment planning and aligner manufacturing. uDesign 10 also introduces new Indirect Bonding features, including a bracket prescription builder, height settings, and an expanded bracket library.
uDesign Cloud key features include:
Testimonials from beta users:
“This is a dream come true! It has a significantly improved look and feel over the desktop version, and I can submit directly from my Mac computer.” — Dr. Eric Wu, Wu Orthodontics
“I’ve been waiting for this for a long time. This is EPIC!” — Dr. Ken Smith, Anacapa Orthodontics
“Using the Cloud platform for tooth movement and aligner creation has streamlined our workflow; faster case setup, real-time collaboration, and seamless accessibility from my MacBook Pro.” — Dr. Bill Layman, DMD, MBA, Straighten Up Orthodontics
All uAssist planning, uSmile orders, account management, and billing will be centralized in the Cloud. Comprehensive self-planning and in-office printing remain available only in the desktop version at this time and will eventually transition to the Cloud workflow.
