Delta Dental of Tennessee (Delta Dental) recently announced the appointment of industry veteran Barry Boster as its new chief revenue officer. With more than 30 years of experience in the employee benefits industry, Boster will play a key role in driving revenue growth and strengthening relationships with partners across the state.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Delta Dental of Tennessee, a company that has built such a strong reputation for excellence in both service and community impact,” said Boster. “I look forward to working closely with the team and our partners to drive continued growth and provide exceptional value to our clients and members.”
Boster joins Delta Dental from Lockton, the world’s largest independent and privately held insurance brokerage firm. As director of client services, Boster led Lockton’s Tennessee People Solutions consulting practice, where he oversaw a market that generated 32% year-over-year revenue growth last year. Previously, Boster worked for Cigna in various roles across underwriting, account management, and new business sales, and spent 18 years with Humana. As the commercial market leader in Tennessee for Humana, Boster was responsible for membership and revenue growth, market profitability, and strategic planning. He regularly qualified for Humana’s President’s Council, consisting of the top performers across the country in the company’s commercial business segment.
“Barry’s terrific experience, reputation, proven ability to drive growth, and commitment to fostering strong partnerships align perfectly with our goals and culture at Delta Dental of Tennessee,” said Jeff Ballard, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Tennessee. “I am thrilled to welcome him to the team and look forward to seeing the positive impact that I know he will have on our company and the clients we serve.”
A two-time graduate of Belmont University, Boster holds both a bachelor of business administration in finance and an MBA from Belmont’s Massey School of Business. He played baseball for Belmont and was named an Academic All-American for his performance on the field and in the classroom. Boster and his wife, Lori, have been married for 31 years and are proud parents to five daughters.
