Endodontic Practice Partners (EPP), a Nashville-based specialty partnership organization exclusively focused on supporting endodontics, is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Phil Wenk to its board of directors. Dr. Wenk, who recently retired as the chief executive officer of Delta Dental of Tennessee, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the board.
Dr. Phil Wenk joined Delta Dental in 1997 after practicing dentistry for 20 years and led as president and CEO from 2000 through 2023. His leadership at Delta Dental was marked by a period of significant growth and expansion. In addition to providing access to oral healthcare providers, Delta Dental of Tennessee has earned a well-deserved reputation for generosity in communities across the state by creating the Smile 180 Foundation, which Dr. Wenk currently leads.
Dr. Wenk has received numerous accolades for his leadership and service, including Nashville Business Journal’s “Most Admired CEO” and “Health Care Hero” awards, the American Cancer Society’s St. George’s Medal, Meharry Medical College’s “Circle of Friends” award, Chairperson of the Year by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Outstanding Alumnus Award from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry, selection from more than 370,000 alumni as one of the University of Tennessee’s “Top 100 Distinguished Alumni,” and most recently was inducted into Tennessee’s Health Care Hall of Fame.
