Planet DDS Announces Record-Breaking Growth, Pulling Ahead as the Leader in Cloud-Based Dental Software

Planet DDS has announced a landmark year of unprecedented growth in revenue, customer base, and technological advancements.

2023 was a transformative year for Planet DDS, marked by the strategic acquisition of Cloud 9, the category creator for cloud-based practice management solutions for orthodontists. The company also saw 53% year-over-year growth in revenue and added over 5,000 new locations served nationwide.

With a rapidly growing customer base, Planet DDS now boasts one of the largest, if not the largest, dental databases in the world, a testament to its technological prowess and commitment to innovation. Planet DDS also achieved a new company milestone of hosting 1 billion images and now manages over 1,256 terabytes of customer data. Planet DDS’s cloud-based solutions facilitated over $7 billion in production while serving the dental needs of over 75 million patients.

Planet DDS was also recognized as an Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Company for the fifth time and honored by Deloitte on its Technology Fast 500 fastest growing companies list. The company’s commitment to innovation and employee engagement also earned it a spot on Fast Company’s List of Top 100 Best Workplaces for Innovators.

“As we reflect on 2023, we have a lot to be proud of. We’re leading a sea change in dental, delivering cloud solutions to more practices each year. We’re positioned for another strong year in 2024 and look forward to partnering with more practices to drive growth in profitability, patient outcomes, staff engagement, and efficiency,” says Eric Giesecke, CEO of Planet DDS.

In addition to the impressive growth and multiple awards, Planet DDS also announced a partnership with Pearl to integrate AI into their imaging solution and opened a new Technology Development and Support Centre in Glasgow, Scotland. Notably, Planet DDS also converted all locations for one of North America’s largest dental service organizations, InterDent, in a single calendar year. Among the mid-market and large DSO market, Planet DDS launched implementation for over a dozen groups with over 20 locations and several DSOs with 150+ locations, solidifying its position as the proven solution for large groups and DSOs.

Further enhancing the service offerings, Planet DDS launched two groundbreaking solutions: Denticon Pay and Denticon Practice Analytics. Denticon Pay is a comprehensive, fully integrated patient payment acceptance solution, streamlining payment processes for customers and the patients they serve. Complementing this, Denticon Practice Analytics empowers dental offices with real-time, actionable data insights and integrates seamlessly within Denticon, providing actionable data insights at the office and corporate level. Together, these new features underscore the company’s commitment to being the partner in growth for its customers and revolutionize dental practice management through innovative technology.
