Spain: Training of dental professionals expands by 29% in recent years

The Deac Academy, which specializes in training dental professionals, closed 2022 on a high note. Over the last four years, the academy, which belongs to Proclinic Group, has trained more than 3,000 professionals in the sector through 150 training courses. Proclinic Group is owned by Miura Partners and is an integral provider of solutions for the leading dental sector in Spain.

These numbers highlight an increase by 29% in dental professionals training since 2018, despite the impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic. Among these trainings are courses, among others, in endodontics, dental aesthetics, dental management, implantology, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, periodontics, prostheses and dental hygiene. Currently, four out of 10 students have taken two or more courses at Deac, which has a satisfaction level of 4.85 out of 5.

Hyaluronic acid in restorative dental treatment

The Deac Academy reports a recent interest from professionals in how to use hyaluronic acid in restorative dental treatment. Since 2021, the training of these techniques has grown by 45% and more than 350 professionals have completed courses. Using hyaluronic acid in the lower third of the face helps with the regeneration of the gums and mucosa due to its cell recovery properties. The product also reduces inflammation and accelerates the healing process.

The Deac Academy was launched in 2017 with the aim of offering dental professionals specific continuous training in all dental specialties. Currently dental professionals can only update their knowledge and skills if they have a master's degrees, are in a clinical residency, or if they opt for Continuing Education courses through a training academy such as Deac.

The academy's website includes details on its network of teachers and experts who provide training with testimonials from students.

Joan Vidal, CEO of Deac, said "the dental sector is one of the most dynamic and innovative, which requires its professionals to continuously update their knowledge and applied dental techniques. More than 3,000 students have already passed through Deac classrooms, which demonstrates the excellence of our training content and the expertise of our teaching team."
