Carestream Dental celebrates five-year anniversary, innovation-leading technology

Carestream Dental is celebrating its accomplishments and awards over the past five years, with an aim to accelerate new innovations in the digital transformation of dentistry. 

Many of the company’s successes — which include receiving the 2021 Cellerant Best of Class Technology Award and the Edison Award in 2018 and 2019 — stem from a long history in practice management software and imaging technology. 

“Carestream Dental has always been a leader in digital dentistry but becoming a freestanding technology company gave us even more freedom to innovate,” said CEO Lisa Ashby. “Since 2017, we’ve been developing and investing in data and insights to drive and optimize practice proficiency, deliver business intelligence to the practice and advance new solutions.”

In a news release, Carestream Dental described its innovations including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and guided assistance programs that deliver automated image acquisition and assist in assessing oral health images. The company said its three-dimensional imaging, virtual implant planning and surgical guides lead to more confident diagnoses, faster turnaround, better surgical outcomes and happier, healthier patients. 

In addition, Carestream Dental’s software solutions help dentists manage their businesses and revenue cycle, from getting patients in the door to case acceptance to treatment to payment. The company also offers cloud-connected CBCT systems, cloud-based image viewing and collaboration tools, and high-end native cloud applications.

The company currently has more than 1,200 employees around the world.
