Authors: Eleonora Ortu, Giuseppe Aprile, Ruggero Cattaneo, Davide Pietropaoli, Mario Giannoni and Annalisa Monaco

Objective
The management of the deep bite, especially during the growth is very difficult, because there are not guidelines to follow for the orthodontist. The aim of this paper is describe a case of orthodontic management treated with the a simple device.

Material and methods
A healthy Caucasian girl presented with a skeletal class I, molar class I, dental overcrowding and exhibiting overbite increased prior to treatment. According to the IOTN index, the patient displayed a grade 3 treatment requirement. The patient showed a medium grade of dental crowding in both dental arches. For treatment, the authors only used the EQ O.S.A. device (equilibrator designed by Ovidi, Santi, Aprile for Eptamed SRL; Cesena, www.eptamed.com).

Results
the authors successfully treated an orthopaedic/orthodontic case with a simple device that is described herein. After two years of using this device, the IOTN index passed from grade 3 to a grade 1.

Conclusion:
This device, comfortable and easy to wear, can enhance the dynamic function and can help the orthodontist to resolve difficult cases
