In this interview, Dentistry33 spoke with Frédérik Marcil about the company he founded and leads, Kube Innovation, and the importance of educating patients about bite force. Based in Montreal, the company specializes in creating cutting-edge dental technology that supports dentists in their daily work.
In 2018, Marcil developed the Innobyte, which helps dentists demonstrate the need for treatment related to bite force. Before starting Kube Innovation, he spent several years working in the aerospace industry.
In this interview, Marcil describes the technology behind the Innobyte, the first and only bite force measurement device in the world. He also talks about why bite force is important for clinicians to monitor bite force and, subsequently, adapt a treatment plan. “Ultimately, this will improve quality of life for patients,” he said.
Marcil said the Innobyte provides “a new biometric standard that we’re integrating into everyday dentistry and we’re hoping to bring that to every clinic in North America and in Europe.” .
