Dental imaging market to near $5B

Market analysis firm, Reports and Data, has forecast the dental imaging market to reach $4.88 billion by the end of 2028. The increase would represent a CAGR of 8.4% after the 2020 valuation of $2.54 billion in 2020. The forecast period in the report is 2021 to 2028. 

The market’s growth is expected based on an increased need for better diagnostics and potential to detect disease early. Improvements in the technology used in imaging will also aid in viewing structures. 

While imaging technologies have advanced significantly recently, improvements throughout dentistry require that diagnostics and imaging keep pace. Dental imaging now plays a role in implants, cross-section imaging for surgical planning, and diagnostics with CBCT in clinics; the increased proliferation of dental imaging technologies is expected to continue to spur growth in the market.

As the number of dental diseases increase with changing diets, aging populations, and greater awareness of oral care, attention to cost of care and availability remain top of mind. At the same time, cosmetic surgery and other procedures to improve the appearance of teeth and the jaw also drive growth.
