Dental veneers to exceed $3B

Katherine E. Pfaff

The global market for dental veneers is forecast to reach a value of $3.4 billion by 2028, according to a report by market analysts Research and Markets. The increase across the market is projected at a growth rate of 8.1% CAGR during the forecast period of 2022 to 2028.

Commonly made of composite resin of porcelain or ceramics and attached to teeth, dental veneer treatment can be used to treat structural and cosmetic impact of damaged or decayed teeth. The treatment has seen significant advancement in recent years and has become a viable option for many patients seeking cosmetic improvement of their teeth.

Advancement in the dental veneer market also includes introduction of "no-preparation" veneers that are applied to teeth using alternative methods and do not require the steps of preparation and time that traditional veneers require.

Dental veneers are considered superior to bonding and are expected to last longer than bonding which spot treats damaged teeth with resin. This is generally due to the substances used in veneers and the customization used to create veneers based on a patient's impression of their teeth.
