Dental management software to near $3B

Katherine E. Pfaff

The global market for software used in dental practice management is forecasted to reach $2.7 billion by the end of the period (2026), according to a report by market research firm, ResearchAndMarkets.com. The market was valued at $1.9 billion in 2022. The increase amounts to a CAGR of 8.2%.

The market in the US is thought to reach $687.6 million in 2022. That projected US revenue makes up 32.6% of the total share of the global market.

Among segments, on-premises technologies are thought to be adopted at higher rates as security is thought to be superior compared to cloud applications. However, the web-based segment was projected to grow at a CAGR of 7.5%, achieving a value of $1.3 billion by 2026.

The market is expected to grow as cigarette and alcohol use increases, potentially leading to higher rates of dental disease. At the same time, patients are aging and are requiring greater access to dental care, and younger patients are also seeking cosmetic dental treatments. These factors, along with higher rates of disposable income, have led to an increase in demand for oral care.

Increased demand for digital and technological solutions has also created a demand for practice management software. Dental practice management software can streamline strategy for treatment, dental charting, dental imaging, accounting, e-billing, insurance claims, generating reports, and making appointments online.
