Dental sealants to reach $11B

The market for dental sealants is expected to reach a value of $11.1 billion in the next decade, according to a report by market research firm, Future Market Insights. The valuation follows a 2022 estimated worth of $680 million in 2022. The increase is expected to reach a CAGR of 4.7% across the forecast period of 2022 to 2032. 

Building on the uptick in dental healthcare and knowledge of the importance of oral hygiene, the market is expected to continue growing. At the same time, the market is boosted by a need for dental care due to high rates of dental disease. 

Growth in specific sector is expected based on a mix of efforts to apply sealants to teeth to avoid dental caries, a procedure that may be covered by insurance or government programs. At the same time, patients with disposable income may turn to dental sealants to aid in cosmetic procedures. 

"Increasing preference for dental cosmetic procedures, along with technological advancements in materials used in dental procedures will create opportunities for growth in the forthcoming years," said an FMI analyst.

By geography, the US is expected to garner the largest market share in North America at 30.4%. When evaluating the market by product, glass ionomer is projected to grow at a CAGR of 3.9% and to make up 56.6% of the share of the global market in 2032.
