The domestic dental services market is forecast to grow by a CAGR of 6.24% between 2021 and 2027, according to a report by market analysis company. Precedence Research. The market is expected to grow to a value of $196.18 billion by 2027, up from a value of $109.28 billion in 2020.
Though the market was temporarily slowed by the pandemic, the sector is expected to bounce back based on the increasing rates of dental and oral disease. In 2020, dental offices reported their patients were seeking services at much lower rates; in March services were 75% down and 79% down in April. However, rates were state-specific during the proceeding months of the pandemic, with dental care usage down in some regions and up in others.
In 2020, endodontic dental services took the largest share by far (29.7%), with diagnostic and preventative as the second largest (18.5%). During that time, the smallest share of services was cosmetic at (10.4%). The uptick in endodontic care was due to advances in treatment procedures, technology, and materials.
