Community impact

A cherished Aggie tradition received a toothy touch April 22 at Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas when three soon-to-graduate students received their class rings on campus. Special arrangements were made this year to present A&M Dentistry students with their rings with their friends and family in attendance. Participation in Ring Day was voluntary.

Cristina Estrada, a second-year student in the dental hygiene program, received her ring from Chelsi Graham, clinical assistant professor in the dental hygiene program; second-year dental hygiene student JJ DeStefano-Malik was presented her ring by Christa DeStefano-Malik, her mother; second-year dental hygiene student Sophia Chacon received her ring from Graham.

The Aggie Ring is the most visible symbol of the Aggie Network that connects Aggies around the world. The ring represents values every Aggie should possess – respect, excellence, leadership, loyalty, integrity and selfless service. Ring Day started on main campus in College Station in 2000 and will become an annual tradition at A&M Dentistry in Dallas.
