Dr. Ken Stephen, a second-year Pitt Dental Medicine orthodontics resident, has received the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation (AAOF) 2024 Research Aid Award (RAA). The title of his project is “Impact of Model Base Design and Three-dimensional (3D) Print Settings on the Quality of Orthodontic Retainers”. The research will analyze a full digital workflow to achieve optimal outcomes in the fabrication of 3D printed working models and clear retainers.
Dr. Wellington Rody, chair of the Department of Orthodontics, will serve as co-PI, and Dr. Suvendra Vijayan, Pitt Dental Medicine assistant professor and director of 3D printing and advanced technologies, will serve as co-investigator.
