Wizard Wedges Return Following Los Angeles Fires

Dockum Research Laboratory, Inc.

Following the total loss of its manufacturing facility in the 2025 Los Angeles fires, Wizard Wedges® are back in production and available through authorized dental dealers—the same trusted product, same top-tier quality, from the same dedicated team that has served the dental community for over 70 years.

Dockum Research Laboratory, Inc. (Dockum), the original inventor and manufacturer of Wizard Wedges®, announces the relaunch of its flagship product line following the total loss of its headquarters and production facility in the January 2025 Eaton Fire in Southern California.

Despite the complete devastation, Dockum’s unwavering commitment to providing the industry standard in dental wedges has not changed. While the fire interrupted production of Wizard Wedges® in 2025, the product line was never discontinued.

On January 7, 2025, the Eaton Fire swept through Altadena (a Los Angeles suburb), completely destroying Dockum’s manufacturing facility. Company archives, equipment, and the personal property of owner Greta Dockum and several long-tenured employees were all lost. It was the most significant disruption in the company’s 70-plus-year history.

Dockum is currently operating from a temporary production facility. Plans are underway for a full rebuild of Dockum’s permanent headquarters and manufacturing facility, including a state-of-the-art factory built around the precision standards that define Wizard Wedges®.

Wizard Wedges® are in production and available now, sold exclusively through Wizard Logistics, Inc. and available through your preferred authorized dental dealer. Dental retailers interested in carrying Wizard Wedges® can reach out directly to Wizard Logistics, Inc. at sales@wizardlogistics.net.

Availability of Wizard Wedges® will continue to grow as additional machinery comes online through 2026. Dental professionals and distributors can expect supply to increase on a phased timeline through the year.

“The fire took our building, but it did not take what my father built. Wizard Wedges® are made to the same specifications and quality he perfected more than 70 years ago, and that will not change. We are grateful for the patience of the dental community, and we are proud to be back.” — Greta Dockum, CEO, Dockum Research Laboratory, Inc.

For over 70 years, Wizard Wedges® has been the trusted standard in dental wedges for dental professionals worldwide, earning a global reputation as the benchmark for quality, performance, and precision.

Wizard Wedges® was invented by and is manufactured by Dockum Research Laboratory, Inc. (Dockum) and exclusively distributed by Wizard Logistics, Inc. Dockum is FDA registered (Registration No. 2017608), CE marked, and ISO 13485 compliant with MDSAP designation.
