Dental measurement device company, MEDIT, has launched its i700 wireless intraoral scanner. The new device brings the company’s prior intraoral scanner into a portable and wireless wand. The device retains the accuracy, light weight, and speed of its earlier iteration, according to the company.

“We're tirelessly listening to our customers to provide them with the utmost customer care, which is at our core to continuously evolve,” said GB Ko, chief executive officer of MEDIT. “Our i700 wireless model is a game-changer with its effortless, wire-free capabilities and powerful, long-lasting battery.”

The newly launched device offers a weight-balanced design and delivers connection wirelessly with mm wave technology. The device’s camera system can attain as many as 70 frames each second. Battery life is one hour of ongoing scanning or 8 hours when set in standby mode. The new version also provides a wider area for scanning and reversible tip to allow the practitioner to scan at more angles.

Dental practitioners can operate the scanner with a remote-control option allowing them to review data from scans and provide feedback to patients in real-time and without touching the device. In addition, the unit includes a UV-C LED aspect that disinfects the device.

The scanner can also be paired with the company’s software, MEDIT Link, that integrates with CAM and CAD technologies or proprietary design programs, Medit Design, Smile Design, etc.
