Biolase launches academy to provide continuing education

Katherine E. Pfaff

Dental laser company, Biolase, Inc., has begun to offer continuing education opportunities in dental hygiene through its Epic Hygiene Academy. The program is open to any Biolase diode laser users to provide information on how the devices can help to improve hygiene.

"We are committed to enabling hygienists to deliver the highest quality of care, ultimately elevating the dental industry as a whole," said John Beaver, chief executive officer and president of Biolase. "As Biolase continues to innovate in order to address current challenges, the program is designed to be a resource for dental hygienists with the most current and relevant technologies that they can use to provide quality care."

The academy is headed by Valerie Dangler, RDH, BSDH, and is intended to provide practice expertise from experts, mentorship, case reports, and online information. At the same time, participants will be trained to use dental lasers. Ass part of the academy program, Biolase has also donated an Epic Hygiene device to the Greenville Technical College in South Carolina.
