Katherine E. Pfaff

According to market research company Global Industry Analysts, the global market for dental infection control products is expected to reach $1.6 billion in the next 5 years. The valuation reflects a revision based on the impact of COVID-19, but still indicates a forecast of growth by 4.7% CAGR over the estimated 2020 value of $1.2 billion.

As a result, a higher degree of infection control is expected in dental environments. Dental disease is also more prevalent as patients age or adopts poor eating and oral health habits. On the opposite end of the spectrum, cosmetic dentistry procedures have become more popular.

The US market is estimated at $416.6 million in 2021, which makes up 35.19% of the global market. By market segment, consumables are expected to reach a value of $965 globally with a growth rate of 5.2% CAGR over the period. Following the impact of the pandemic, the equipment segment is forecast at a revised CAGR of 3.9% over the next seven years.
