uLab earns $54.5M in series E

Katherine E. Pfaff

Clear aligners company, uLab Systems, has received $54.5 million in an oversubscribed series E financing. The funding will help the company in the commercialization and development of its AI-assisted platform.

"This is a major milestone for uLab as it provides the necessary resources to accelerate our commercial ramp and enable us to be a formidable player in the clear aligner category," said Mark Foley, chairman of the board at uLab. "We are very pleased to see the validation of our technology and business model by investors who are intimately familiar with the market and uLab's innovative technology. In addition, orthodontists have recognized that innovation and pricing leadership in this market come from uLab and not from the larger companies in this space. As a result, they want to support and participate in the rapid growth and potential being generated by the company."

The funding round included investors who had previously been investing with the company, as well as a group of orthodontists. The AI-backed platform aids treatment planning, quick delivery, and customizable delivery of aligners and brackets.
