Net sales increased 4.9% year over year to $5.36 billion, while organic sales rose 2.4%, reflecting higher pricing and modest volume growth.
Colgate-Palmolive reported solid second-quarter 2026 financial results, driven by continued demand across its oral care , personal care, home care, and pet nutrition businesses despite ongoing global economic uncertainty. Net sales increased 4.9% year over year to $5.36 billion, while organic sales rose 2.4%, reflecting higher pricing and modest volume growth. Foreign exchange also provided a favorable impact during the quarter. Reported earnings per share (GAAP) declined 5% to $0.86 due primarily to restructuring and productivity program charges, while adjusted (Base Business) earnings per share increased 8% to $0.99, exceeding analyst expectations.
The company continued to improve profitability, with gross profit margin expanding 140 basis points to 61.5%. Operating cash flow remained strong, totaling $1.74 billion during the first six months of 2026. Colgate also maintained its global leadership in toothpaste, with a year-to-date worldwide market share of 41.1%.
Performance varied by region. Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia-Pacific all posted sales growth, led by strong demand in markets including India, Türkiye, Germany, China, and the Philippines. North America, however, experienced a decline in sales due to softer consumer demand and lower volumes. Hill’s Pet Nutrition also delivered growth, supported by pricing gains and continued strength in its core branded products despite reduced private-label sales.
Chairman, President, and CEO Noel Wallace said the company delivered another quarter of resilient performance despite a volatile operating environment. He credited Colgate’s innovation pipeline, disciplined execution, and investment strategy for driving growth while positioning the company for continued long-term success. Wallace also noted that the company remains focused on balancing market share gains with profitable growth.
Looking ahead, Colgate-Palmolive raised its full-year earnings outlook, now expecting mid-single-digit growth in Base Business earnings per share while reaffirming its forecast for net sales and organic sales growth of 2% to 6%. Management said it remains confident that ongoing productivity initiatives, innovation, and investment in its global brands will continue supporting sustainable growth throughout the remainder of 2026.
