OrthoFX Launches New PrecisionFinish Aligners

OrthoFX, a leading innovator of shorter wear time aligner systems, announces AirFlex with new PrecisionFinish Aligners. This new feature is designed to deliver greater precision during the final stages of orthodontic treatments. For many orthodontists, one of the most persistent challenges with clear aligner therapy has been managing final detailing and obtaining optimal tooth alignment—the critical movements that conventional braces resolve using finishing wires. PrecisionFinish Aligners were created to address this problem, ensuring predictable tooth movement, alignment, and aesthetics before patients transition to the retention phase.

Unlike standard aligners that apply high force initially and quickly become passive, PrecisionFinish Aligners deliver sustained active force throughout the final stages*. This active control helps reduce the need for refinements and overcorrections often required with other aligner systems, giving doctors the confidence, predictable outcomes, and the final tooth alignment they desire.

“With PrecisionFinish Aligners in the final stages, I’ve seen a noticeable difference in how precisely I can finish treatments,” said Dr. Neil Warshawsky, orthodontist, professor, and leading AirFlex provider. “Tooth alignment is dialed in beautifully.”

“At OrthoFX, our mission is to continually push the boundaries of aligner therapy through material innovation,” said Ren Menon, CEO of OrthoFX. “With PrecisionFinish, we’re advancing orthodontic finishing by giving doctors more control in the final stages of aligner treatment.”

The new finishing aligners are made with an innovative, proprietary material that enhances the performance of OrthoFX’s AirFlex system. This underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to developing advanced polymer technology that supports optimal treatment outcomes, shorter wear times, and fewer office visits. Beginning October 28, 2025, PrecisionFinish Aligners will be seamlessly integrated into the last four stages of all AirFlex comprehensive cases, and new refinements submitted after 10/28 will also automatically get PrecisionFinish—at no additional cost.

About OrthoFX

OrthoFX was established by a group of pioneers in the clear aligner industry who were instrumental in advancing and scaling leading aligner brands. The founders of OrthoFX saw an opportunity to improve treatment predictability and patient compliance by reimagining next-generation polymers, software, and services. Their goal was to empower doctors to provide effective, efficient aligner systems while offering patients aligner options that fit with their daily lifestyle.

The OrthoFX portfolio of products includes FXClear, which features stain-resistant material and smooth, scalloped edges for enhanced comfort and fit; FXBright, a translucent aligner system that gives teeth a naturally whiter and straighter appearance—without the use of whitening gels—from day one of the treatment. At the forefront of OrthoFX’s aligners is the AirFlex System with the newly announced PrecisionFinish Aligners, designed for effortless compliance, predictability, and detailing.
