Dr. Amanda Seay Inaugurated as New AACD President


An active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) for more than two decades, Dr. Amanda N. Seay, DDS, FAACD, was inaugurated as President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) last month during the AACD’s Annual Member Meeting.

AACD President and Accredited Fellow Dr. Seay brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her new position, having been an active member since 2002. She became an AACD Accredited dentist in 2014 and an Accredited Fellow in 2019, reflecting her commitment to excellence in esthetic dentistry. 

She maintains a full-time private practice in Charleston, South Carolina, focused on comprehensive restorative dentistry. Dr. Seay, who was officially inaugurated into the new role on March 13, 2025, holds a Clinical Instructor position at the Kois Center in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Seay is a member of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and a fellow of the American Society of Dental Aesthetics. She was honored as a Top 25 Women in Dentistry in 2012 by Dental Products Report and received the Lucy Hobbs 2015 award for “The Woman to Watch in Dentistry.” She was named one of 32 Most Influential People in Dentistry in 2021 and 2022, serves as the restorative editor for Inside Dentistry, and is one of three national directors for the Seattle Study Club.

The AACD is an international association comprised of approximately 3,000 dental professionals dedicated to advancing excellence in the art and science of comprehensive cosmetic dentistry and encouraging the highest standards of ethical conduct and responsible patient care. The academy stated in a press release that it is “excited to see what Dr. Seay’s presidency will bring to the future of the AACD and all its members.”
