Henry Schein releases 2022 Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility report

Henry Schein, Inc. announced on July 26 the publication of its 2022 Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report, titled “Delivering Solutions for a Healthier Tomorrow.”

As part of the company’s work to enhance its disclosures, Henry Schein reported on its sustainability efforts in 2022 in accordance with Sustainability Accounting Standards Board and Global Reporting Initiative Standards. According to a news release, the CSR Report highlights Henry Schein's efforts to promote responsible business practices and make a positive impact on society.

“Throughout Henry Schein’s more than 90-year history, we have remained committed to our five constituents: customers, supplier partners, investors, Team Schein Members and society at large,” said Stanley M. Bergman, chairman of the board and CEO of Henry Schein, Inc.

“Guided by our purpose-driven mission and higher ambition model, we continue to operate as a socially responsible and sustainable organization dedicated to ‘Delivering Solutions for a Healthier Tomorrow,’" he said. "This year’s report reflects these commitments, and we look forward to continuing to build on this activity in the years to come.”

According to the report, the company's four environmental focus areas are:

• Climate impact mitigation
• Resource efficiency
• Circularity in operations and
• Supply chain action.

The company said its leaders are using target-setting as a powerful tool for action. The report highlights that Henry Schein signed the Business Ambition for 1.5°C in 2021 and have committed to setting a science-based net-zero target by the end of 2023. We are improving and streamlining climate data collection and reporting mechanisms, in preparation for establishing a 2022 baseline for our science-based targets in compliance with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol.
