Since launching its sustainability strategy “BEYOND: Taking Action for a Brighter World” in 2021, Dentsply Sirona has worked to advance environmental, social, and business health both within the company and across the global dental industry. The company’s 2024 Sustainability Report reaffirms this commitment and showcases tangible progress made during 2024.
Dentsply Sirona, the world’s largest diversified manufacturer of professional dental products and technologies, has published its 2024 Sustainability Report, which shows that the company has met several goals ahead of the 2025 timeframe and introduced a new environmental goal focusing on recyclable packaging.
“We are proud of the progress we have made since launching our sustainability strategy, and we are encouraged by the outcomes we achieved over the past year,” said Tony Johnson, SVP, chief supply chain officer, and executive sponsor for ESG at Dentsply Sirona. “We’ve strengthened our governance systems and set a new ambitious goal around packaging as we continue to work toward Net Zero—all while acting responsibly for the planet, society, our company, and our customers.”
Driven by its sustainability strategy “BEYOND: Taking Action for a Brighter World,” Dentsply Sirona is proud of the meaningful progress achieved across the strategy’s three pillars: Healthy Planet (environmental goals), Healthy Smiles (social goals), and Healthy Business (governance goals).
Key highlights from the 2024 Sustainability Report
In 2024, Dentsply Sirona also completed its first double materiality assessment, aligned with the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, and launched a Global Sustainability Policy to guide operations through five key principles: governance, compliance, progress, disclosure, and engagement.
Dentsply Sirona’s sustainability actions in 2024 were acknowledged by several leading institutions. The company was included in Newsweek’s list of America’s Greenest Companies and named a Top-Rated Company in healthcare for ESG by Sustainalytics. Dentsply Sirona also received numerous awards for its inclusive workplace culture and community programs, including recognition from LinkedIn and the Global Good Awards.
“2024 was a year of focused effort and strategic action that resulted in measurable progress across our sustainability priorities,” said Tony Johnson. “From product innovation and emissions reduction to inclusion-focused programs and education, our sustainability progress in 2024 is thanks in no small part to the exceptional talents of our employees and our valuable partnerships with our stakeholders. Together, we are working to further strengthen a resilient business that creates lasting value for all our stakeholders. We remain committed to going BEYOND and invite all our stakeholders to take action with us.”
