The International University of Catalonia (UIC Barcelona) has signed a collaborative agreement with Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. The new program will allow dentistry students to earn a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at the end of their studies.
Specifically, this new collaboration between the two academic centers establishes an international and collaborative program that will allow UIC Barcelona students to obtain bachelor's and DMD degrees in seven academic years.
Rutgers School of Dental Medicine is one of the few U.S. state universities that allows foreign dentists to take the Internationally Educated DMD Program. After completing the 27-month program, students obtain a diploma that allows them to practice in the U.S. in accordance with specific state regulations.
To be eligible to study at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, students at UIC Barcelona's faculty of dentistry must have successfully completed a five-year degree and meet the admission requirements, including having passed the Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INDBE).
This agreement represents an important boost in the internationalization of UIC Barcelona, which offers a comprehensive education to its students so that they can develop their academic and professional careers, discovering other ways of studying, working and understanding dentistry, as well as developing on a personal and cultural level.
