Skills to evolve over the next decade

Guests and leaders discussed the themes of the evolution of skills, growth prospects and future paths during the event. Remarks included:

Luca Pani, full professor of pharmacology and clinical pharmacology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, professor at the University of Miami and former director general of the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA), discussed the how indispensable new technologies and digitization will be for the next decade:

"2023 is a particular year for biology. We celebrate two decades since the Human Genome project was completed. The revolution we are witnessing today began then, where medicine has become a data-driven information science, through which companies and technologies are extracting codes capable of simulating the global behavior of healthy individuals at risk. This is the next frontier we see: sensors, pattern analysis, human-machine interfaces and new actors. Not only will these be the giants of the network, but I also see the emergency of specialized digital content publishers, constantly evolving, just like EDRA, which has been able to intuit this metamorphosis and that now guides the evolution of information and knowledge in the medical-scientific field and beyond.”

Andrea Mandelli, Federation of Italian Pharmacists (FOFI) president and former vice president of the chamber of deputies, underscored the importance of a unique and solid path to move forward.

"It is time to make those reforms that allow the country to return to growth and to face the great challenges facing the health system today. Professions are evolving rapidly to respond to the needs of citizens and the growing centrality of the role of the pharmacist within the National Health Service is a clear example of this. As FOFI we are committed to making an active contribution to building a more efficient healthcare that lives up to the times we are experiencing."

Beatrice Lorenzin, vice president of the Democratic Party Group and member of the Budget Commission, highlighted the indispensability of human relationships.

"The infinite that we do not know gives us confidence in man who finds solutions despite experiencing exponential change. The real challenge we face is to bring these solutions and technologies into the daily lives of all patients. Our mission is to bring solutions into our lives and to do so it is necessary to be able to adapt to change and to know how to transform ourselves, finding solutions to new problems. We must return to understanding others. It is essential to return to educating about empathy and recover the relational dimension to evolve and move forward.”

Antonio Gaudioso, former head of the technical secretariat of the Minister of Health and new member of the board of directors of Edra discussed the importance of community, with a view to the evolution of society.

"The ability of a modern country with enormous challenges is to keep individual rights and the public’s general interest together. It is the community of professionals who must have the opportunity to adapt models to changing times. Despite the delays of the country, we are there, I am optimistic, because the community is aware of what needs to be done and it is necessary for the community to count when it comes to making certain choices. We can no longer do as we have always done, there is a need for this change: We must adapt the professions to the needs of the community first and foremost by investing in them."

Ludovico Baldessin, LSWR partner and CEO of Edra, highlighted the importance of a systemic vision for the future.

"We have witnessed profound transformations, particularly in recent years, but the professional scenario is destined to evolve again, radically and quickly. The teaching that is fundamental to apply in the future lies in the ability to approach evolution with a systemic and integrated vision. We must abandon siloed logic, favoring connections even between the most diverse skills. Only in this way will we be able to develop new models of knowledge and reshape the professional context, guiding with certainty the evolution that awaits us in the next 10 years.”

Giorgio Albonetti, partner and president of the LSWR Group, said, "Our first ten years of history have led us to be an international and strategic reality in various professional sectors, from health to law. I am proud to be able to celebrate today the success of a group that has been able to acquire the most interesting talents to respond to all professional challenges. LSWR, year after year, has managed to combine an important plurality of perspectives and skills, responding effectively to the demands of a complex professional world. Today we are proud to celebrate a milestone, but we relaunch our commitment to the next 10 years, with the aim of continuing to write new pages of success and design innovative solutions for the system.”
