Dental AI company, Overjet, will partner with Medicaid-Medicare-CHIP Services Dental Association to create a national Medicaid Artificial Intelligence initiative. The collaboration is intended to increase efficiency, decrease costs, and improve access and quality across the state dental programs.
“MSDA is pleased to be partnering with Overjet to help establish the de facto standard of operation for modernizing the claim workflows for Medicaid dental program administration,” said Mary E. Foley, executive director of MSDA. “By increasing efficiency, lowering the costs of claim reviews, and improving program integrity, Medicaid programs will be able shift administrative costs to expanding and improving dental benefits for members. Overjet is a wonderful partner who has demonstrated rich knowledge, understanding and proven expertise of AI to effectively transform Medicaid dental programming.”
The collaboration is hoped to increase the cost effectiveness of operations in the state dental programs and lead to better overall results in oral care. Initially, the partnership will create a framework for learning about the systems which will inform the AI’s activity in improving administration of the programs. Those utilizing Overjet’s AI technology will learn how to implement the technology to more efficiently process dental care claims and how the AI can bolster integrity of the programs.
Currently, Overjet’s Claim Intelligence platform which uses AI to review claims is in use by several dental insurers. The partnership with MSDA will begin with an initial 18 states.
“Overjet's mission is to improve oral health for all, and we are honored to be chosen by MSDA as a partner,” said Wardah Inam, chief executive officer and co-founder of Overjet. “We look forward to supporting MSDA's efforts in advancing quality and access to care for all Medicaid beneficiaries. Not only is MSDA a proven advocate in helping states find innovative solutions that increase efficiency and effectiveness for programs and services, MSDA advances data-driven policies aimed at improving health and healthcare equity for Medicaid beneficiaries.”
