X-Nav wins FDA nod for surgical navigation system

Guided surgery product company, X-Nav Technologies, LLC , has been awarded FDA clearance for expanded use of its minimally-invasive endodontic system. The system, X-Guide Dynamic Surgical Navigation, can precisely reach areas of teeth to complete endodontic procedures. 

Common tooth structures which need to be accessed for endodontic treatment include apicoectomies and calcified canals.

The system’s X-Point technology allows for the practitioner to see the dental anatomy in real time, and to manage the drill bit placement. Additional elements like software help to plan procedure workflow. 

“X-Guide dynamic navigation is an extremely accurate solution to a common endodontic challenge: calcified root canal systems,” said L. With more precise navigation, dentists can access dental structures with less impact on the teeth. This includes less damage to surrounding tooth structures, complete procedures with less preparation, and to finish procedures with less time.
