Orthodontic Supplies Market to Hit $11.2B by 2030: P&S Intelligence

Katherine E. Pfaff

The global market for orthodontic supplies is expected to reach a value of $11.2 billion by 2030, amounting to a CAGR of 8.9% between 2021 to 2030, based on a research report by P&S Intelligence. In 2021, the market was valued at $5.2 billion.

Growth is expected based on increased usage of orthodontic supplies to alter the alignment of teeth, improve bite and to improve overall appearance. In addition, the market has been boosted by technological improvements, including colored brackets for children, lingual brackets and transparent brackets for a professional look.

Overall, the use of orthodontic devices, such as aligners, braces, and consumables, has increased due to higher rates of dental disease, according to a news release. The most seen dental diseases by patient rates are periodontal diseases, dental cavities, malocclusions and oral cancer.

At the same time, according to the World Health Organization, the highest rates worldwide of dental diseases were in tooth decay, cleft lip and cleft palate, oral cancer and oro-dental trauma. Increased rates of oral diseases are thought to be linked to diets high in sugar, tobacco use and alcohol use.

In 2021, North America had the greatest revenue share at 38.1%. Its leading role is thought to be due to high rates of dental disease as well as a high rate of awareness of dental disease and large number of major market players in the region.
